GLO Status - Mission Elapsed Time (MET) 4/12:00 GLO is continuing to collect science data. Of significant interest was an outstanding aurora data set, with altitude profiling, at MET 2/22:20 - 2/22:30 over EISCAT and stations in Ireland, Germany, and France. During Astronaut sleep periods we are collecting dayglow and night airglow data. Altitude profiling along the slit is being accomplished with about 24 samples taken over about 280 km. During night portions of the orbit, while the orbiter is northbound and at the top of its orbit, night airglow is being profiled from about 50 km to about 150 km. By rotating the slit we will be taking data tonight at increased altitude resolution for both day and night airglow passes. We have been partially successful at tracking a star into the limb, and continue to work on the tracking algorithm. Now that we are past the rendezvous with the MIR station, the shuttle is at an altitude of 395 km, where the limb is depressed about 19.5 degrees.
